What is “News From My Corner of the World”, exactly?

As an aspiring journalist, I am frustrated by the many stories that get covered up or just flat out ignored by the major media organizations. I am a CNN fan,though, since they (usually) come the closest to covering things no one else does, or will. I still keep hoping everyone else will catch up…and tell us about something other than politics. I mean, politics 24/7/365 starts to grate on one’s nerves. I guess that’s what I get for studying political science in college.
